Solar Power Electricity

8 July 2010 No Comment

Solar power generation provides a clean energy system. Electricity is generated from the sun’s rays that fall on the earth’s surface. Solar energy can be used anywhere. It has been used in large office buildings, factories and in residential houses. People are looking towards solar power generation as a viable renewable energy choice because it is environmentally sound and it is the best choice for the planet and the people who live on the planet.

Scientists and environmentalists warn us about reducing carbon dioxide emissions to stop contributing to and increasing global warming. The best way that we can all reduce carbon dioxide emissions is to implement solar power generation wherever possible. Solar power leaves no footprints on the environment. There are no harmful effects of solar power generation, which makes it an attractive alternative form of energy. Many like to begin their solar power efforts by installing skylights and purchasing a solar powered water heating system.

Solar power is clean energy and there is an inexhaustible supply of sunlight. There is no danger of the sun running out of sunshine so we essentially have a limitless supply of clean energy. The amount of energy the sun can release to earth in one hour is equal to the power consumption that the earth uses in an entire year. There is no fear of depletion since the sun has been producing energy for billions of years, and we will no longer need to depend upon foreign oil for our energy needs. The future is now and the future is solar power electricity.

Solar power generation requires the use of photovoltaic technology in the form of solar cell panels. These panels are installed on building rooftops to collect the sunlight and change it into electricity. Power inverters are used to convert the direct current into alternating current to be able to run household appliances and equipment. There is an indoor distribution panel that sends out the appropriate amounts of electricity to run household electrical devices. It is clear today that solar power electricity is the way forward.

New advances in photovoltaic technologies have lead to a decrease in solar panel prices and an increase in different materials used for constructing the solar panels. Thin film is currently being used and can easily be incorporated into the construction of office buildings and homes rather than the crystalline panels that were only available a few years ago. Join others and promote solar power electricity.

Price is often the number one factor that solar power generation is not being used. There is a significant cost associated with getting a solar power electrical system up and running. What people seem to forget is that the advent of a solar power system means less reliance on a public service utility company, so there will be annual savings achieved from that expenditure alone. In addition, there are rebates and tax breaks that are given to commercial builders and residential owners who install a solar power electrical system than can recoup 30-35% of the cost of the system. Of course budget is always something that needs to be looked at, but be sure to consider these other savings that you will achieve by implanting a solar power electricity generation system.
